Are Your Estate Documents Up to Speed? (RECAP)

This has truly proven to be a unique time for all of us. As if the pandemic was not enough, 2020 has proven to be filled with many changes in the world of trust and estates. With all of the changes that have taken place in the law at the federal and state level this year, it is an opportune time to get a plan in place (or update an existing plan) to help minimize taxes, avoid the court system and layer in asset protection for beneficiaries.

Our guest speaker, Mitch Weinstein, will discuss various topics and implications as a result of these changes to the law. Mitch, principal and president of Chuhak & Tecson, focuses his practice on a wide range of estate planning, federal and state taxation, general corporate and real estate transaction matters. In his role as firm president, Mitch provides forward-looking leadership and prudent management for a law firm with a proud tradition of legal excellence and responsive service.

Topic areas covered will include:

  1. The SECURE Act
  2. The new Illinois Trust Code
  3. Implications of reviewing and updating trusts and estate plan documents
  4. The four basic estate plan documents: pour-over will, revocable living trust, health care power of attorney and property power of attorney
We ask that you register in advance by clicking the Register button on this page. Also, please formulate in advance, any questions you might want to ask Mitch.
